Veitsiluoto Mill is looking for highly structured, result oriented and ambitious candidate with high potential to assume the role of Development Engineer in Lead Buyer in R&D team in Veitsiluoto Mill!

We offer the selected candidate a unique opportunity to learn hands-on all about processes and project development in paper mill as well as technical customer service. The Development Engineer works closely with operations, maintenance, laboratory, technical customer service and other stakeholders. Development Engineer is responsible for supporting and participating process and product development as well as quality.

During your first 18 months in this job you will participate in the Stora Enso GROW Global Trainee Programme.

Job description

Selected person will be a member of the R&D team in Veitsiluoto Mill, and his/her primary responsibility will be to participate in process and product development projects and topics at paper production lines.

Main Responsibilities
In (mill, pilot or laboratory scale) trials he/she will:
  • create trial plans and inform all parties involved
  • follow the execution
  • report the results and give proposals for the next steps

  • With production or product quality related problems he/she will:
  • work in close co-operation with the production team
  • assist and give his/her input on possible investigations and studies
  • work as a link between the laboratory resources and production

  • With product development projects and Technical Customer Service issues he/she will:
  • work in close co-operation with TCS Manager
  • substitute TCS Manager during his vacation and holiday periods
  • Required Education
    M.Sc in Process Technology or equivalent is preferred.
    Graduation by August 2019 at the latest.
    Work Experience
    Recent graduate or maximum 2 years of relevant working experience. Working experience in paper production or industry is very beneficial and will be considered an advantage.
    Language Skills
    Fluent in written and spoken English and Finnish.
    Possible other languages are beneficial.

    The ideal candidate is highly structured and systematic, works proactively and result-oriented and is willing and able to take initiative.   • Be able to work alone and do planning, analysing and reporting work carefully.
    Must also communicate and co-operate well and fluently in and with other teams and partners at the mill. External communication in TCS work and in foreign language must be ok.

    Utilises efficiently all existing experience and knowledge available from the specialists and resources at the mill as well as uses suppliers and other external partners to solve day to day issues. In addition must be ready and brave to challenge existing ways of working and bring up own thinking and fresh ideas for development and possible new solutions as well as leading and inspire towards the big picture.

    Easily communicates in all types of situations and makes people feel listened to.
    Builds trust and openness by understanding current processes, customer needs and best practice.

  • Have graduated with a relevant university degree before 31.8.2019;
  • Are proficient in English;
  • Are willing to travel;
  • Have no more than 2 years of working experience after graduation;
  • Are motivated, development-minded, and up for a challenge.
